“Sod the wine, I want to suck on the writing. This man White is an instinctive writer, bloody rare to find one who actually pulls it off, as in still gets a meaning across with concision. Sharp arbitrage of speed and risk, closest thing I can think of to Cicero’s ‘motus continuum animi.’

Probably takes a drink or two to connect like that: he literally paints his senses on the page.”

ALIGNMENTISATIONALISING McLVGW&TA

Hot news from McLaren Vale Grape Wine and Tourism Association 2.3.18:

Strategic Planning and Strategic Themes

In mid-December 2017, the Board met to review and discuss the Association’s Strategic Plan, and welcomed presentations from key strategic partners Wine Australia (Andreas Clarke, CEO), South Australian Tourism Commission (Rodney Harrex, CEO), Primary Industries & Regions SA (Jo Collins, Executive Director of Agriculture, Food and Wine) and Brand SA (Karen Raffen, CEO).

The Board are pleased to advise that the following two themes have been identified:

"Premiumisation"

"Visitation"

The two themes will act as filters and enable the Association to assess all existing and future activities to ensure strong alignment and improve delivery of outcomes.

The DRINKSTER delights in this breakthrough, quoted verbatim from McLVGW&TA. Our language people suggest it means "make better wine to deserve more discerning customers before you expect them to come back with their mates to buy more." Thinks:  add up the rates of all those brilliant experts for the time it took them to devise this ... what is it worth?
