“Sod the wine, I want to suck on the writing. This man White is an instinctive writer, bloody rare to find one who actually pulls it off, as in still gets a meaning across with concision. Sharp arbitrage of speed and risk, closest thing I can think of to Cicero’s ‘motus continuum animi.’

Probably takes a drink or two to connect like that: he literally paints his senses on the page.”

KLYUCHEVSKAYA : GEOLOGY LIVE

Klyuchevskaya Sopka eruption, Kamchutka Peninsula ... very big zit in Pacific NW Russia ... there may be grapes here some day, and vignerons boasting on their back labels of "the world's oldest volcanic soils" ... what bullshit - how old is that smoke? ... Looks fresh to me, but it comes out through the skin of a 4.54 billion year old planet, and it's been squirting out there constantly for only 500 years ... Klyuchevskaya Sopka is currently 4750 metres at the caldera rim, and still zittin' ...  probly only just getting started ... all Kamchutka's very active ... NASA/Earth Observatory/Robert Simmon image ... blow it as big as you can
